Meet the Team: Our Dynamic Coaching Staff

We are excited to introduce our coaching staff for the upcoming season. Our team led is by Coaches Jores Peters, Sam Litvin, and Michael Joseph. All who bring years of experience and a passion for the sport. Our coaches have a proven track record of developing wrestlers on and off the mat. We follow the long-term athletic development model which is a framework that strategizes training, competition, and recovery depending on the participants stage in their athletic development. Our coaches have USA Wrestling certifications and background checks as part of the clubs commitment to athlete safety. Coaches have taken several trainings offered by CIF, AAU, and USA Wrestling as part of their commitment to continued development and using the best evidence based practices.

Coach Jores Peters

Club Director and Youth Coach Jores Peters is an Assistant Coach at Patrick Henry High School and at Pershing and Lewis Middle Schools. Previously, he served as an Assistant Coach at Imperial High School, where he helped transform the boys’ and girls’ teams into top contenders in San Diego CIF, producing numerous CIF champions, multiple Masters placers, and multiple state qualifiers. Coach Jores has over 25 years of wrestling experience as a coach, as a former collegiate wrestler and as a scholastic wrestler under New York State legendary coach Mike Watson. He resides in Allied Gardens with his wife, and three kids. Coach Jores holds USA Wrestling Copper and Teal certifications.

Coach Sam Litvin

Coach Sam Litvin
Coach Sam is currently the Head Coach at Patrick Henry High School. Before arriving at Patrick Henry, Coach Sam was the assistant coach at San Dieguito Academy, volunteer coach at La Costa Canyon High School under Dwayne Buth, coached the University of California San Diego NWCA Club and Tel Aviv Wrestling Club. Coach Litvin led Patrick Henry to a third place in City, 9th in county. Under Coach Litvin Patrick Henry had its first Masters Champion and qualified two wrestlers for the California state championships. Coach Sam is USA Wrestling Teal Certified.

Originally from San Diego, CA, Coach Joseph began his wrestling journey at Patrick Henry High School in 2008 and has remained deeply involved in the sport ever since, gaining experience both as a competitor and coach at the high school and collegiate levels.

Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to learn from and coach alongside top-tier mentors, including two-time California high school state champion Brody Barrios at Palomar College and NCAA Division II champion Kris Nelson, the current head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead. These experiences have greatly shaped his coaching philosophy, emphasizing fundamental wrestling techniques that enhance performance at all levels.

Coach Joseph holds a Master’s in Education from Alliant International University and is currently an educator in the San Ysidro Unified School District.
